CRYSTAL BAILEY

A Detroit native who now resides in Oak Park and an alumni of Oak Park High School. Crystal Bailey is a civil servant, former Vice President of the Oak Park School Board of Education. She has worked in the Juvenile Probation Department in Oakland County. She is the founder of WALK Fashion Show LLC, a successful international corporation of 17 years with a voice to impact independent business owners and entrepreneurs. She’s been consistent and actively involved in the communities such as, Detroit, Oak Park and Royal Oak Township. Over the past 17 years the company she founded, along with her nonprofit 501c3, WALK Fashion Academy INC. sponsors twice yearly clothing and food giveaways for the Neighborhood Service Organization. During a global pandemic, Crystal was focused on helping Oak Park School District distribute internet hotspots to ensure our students within the district were equipped with the tools needed to successfully participate in virtual classes. She is running for the new House District 5. We need to discuss about why our jails are housing those who need mental health care instead of detention and incarceration. We need to discuss why our schools are the first to lose funding when budget cuts happen. We need to discuss our needs within our new House District 5. She’s most passionate about Gun Safety/Accountability, Mental Health Crisis, Water Affordability, Auto Insurance and Property Taxes.
